Session Summary
Cyber Security Strategy When Going Global

Let's delve into the "Cybersecurity Strategy When Going Global: Russia Angle." This presentation will address the intensifying cybersecurity threats originating from Russia and associated groups, especially in light of its ongoing war with Ukraine. UK government has been a leading Ukraine ally supplying the country with growing military and financial aid as well as providing a tremendous geopolitical support. No wonder, official Kremlin considers Britain as one of its main global adversaries, while Kremlin-paid media propagandists periodically disseminate threats of Russia's imminent nuclear retaliation against the UK as a retaliation for its uncompromising position on Ukraine.

We will have a look at the challenging cybersecurity environment by outlining the specific threats posed by Russian cyber activities, demonstrating how to utilise UK and global resources effectively, and advising on the first-aid response to potential cyberattacks against British institutions and businesses.

Whereas the cyber defence of the United Kingdom is among top government and MOD strategic priorities, and relevant help from specialised institutions or companies should be immediately sought after in case of a cyberattack or malevolent information campaign, we will discuss some basic company-level measures that can be easily implemented as a first echelon protection against cyberwarfare by Russia and other rogue actors.
